I joined because I was sick of being tired, clothes not fitting properly, and did not feel good about myself. I have lost 4.5kg in 6 weeks, decreased tummy measure by 7cm, and went from firm size 38 to comfortable size 36 pants or tight 97 to easy 92cm waist. Even my life has changed, I have more energy, feel more confident, and I am enjoying life a lot more! About three months ago I noticed my ‘stretchy’ jeans were getting tight and realised something needed to be done. I was unhappy, unfit, and overweight and hated my appearance.  This was coupled with the fact that I had rheumatoid arthritis.  Traditional exercise (such as the treadmill) strained my joints and my motivation was at an all time low.  So I made a commitment to get a trainer.  The next week I met with personal trainer Carlos Dobson, with three goals in mind:

1.    Lost weight and look hot
2.    Get fit and stronger
3.    Fit into my (‘skinny’) lee jeans.

Since the first sessions i have felt better and on track to the ‘new’ me. Carlos has helped me in many ways – he has inspired and motivated me through his own story, taught me exercises and bike programs that are not only safe but also increasing strength and muscle around my joints and therefore improving mobility.  Exercising is now less of a strain on my body.

He has taught me nutrition info helping me make the right nutritional choices in my meal planning. But most importantly is his dedication to both clients and his training that is making the real difference; Carlos makes an effort to know his clients, encouraging and motivating them to achieve their fitness and weight goals. And the results so far?  I have already lost 7kgs, 10 cms off my waist alone.  My strength has increased and I have improved mobility in all my joints. My transformation has inspired both my partner and father.  They too have started eating healthy. I cannot wait till summer and yes the lee jeans now fit.

I had managed to gain 16.2 kgs in less than twelve months and I was starting to feel the repercussions of the weight gain not only physically but also emotionally. My name is Michael Mould. I am 67 years old. I am a builder / farmer. I have lived in the Northern Rivers for 32 years. I retired 6 years ago and in an effort to control weight gain I tried walking, gym and home exercises.   This proved very difficult to maintain so I decided to join a structured and balanced fitness and exercise program. My son and daughter recommended I try Future Health boot camp run by Carlos Dobson. I joined in February 2009 and have been attending Alstonville boot camp for 13 months.

During this period I have received excellent strength, cardiac and stretching training, always done in a spirit of fun and  enjoyment with a group of similarly minded people. My life is so much better and richer now. I have lost weight, my bone density has markedly increased , I sleep better and I have gained strength and mobility. I feel as fit as a person half my age, and as a bonus I can now walk long distances without any after effects or pain.

I thought I had tried everything in the past to lose weight, but I was wrong. I spent so much time thinking about losing weight that somehow I had counted that as trying to lose weight. I spent the last fifteen years going up and down with my weight and always thought dieting was the only way, until I joined Carlos' Ballina Body Blitz. I realized after listening to Carlos that this was not just about losing weight, but this was about getting fit, losing weight and changing the way I think for the future. I am so proud of myself and all my friends and the things we have accomplished together. My accomplishment went from not being able to chase my 4 year old son in an emergency (on to road) to completing a 5km run and now enjoying seeing him try to keep up with me.

Hi Carlos,

Just a quick note to let you know that Elise and I are stoked with our improvement since joining your sessions. 
Thanks for adding a better awareness to our overall health including diet, we’re now more conscious about it and find that we really strive to reach our own personal goals.
Been loving our Wednesday morning early starts, not easy at first but once you get started it makes your whole day.
Your approach has been greatly motivating and sessions varied, enjoyable and incusive. I find that we can all work at various levels as a group and I've always found that I'm personally being challenged regardless of what level the person next to me is at.
There's days that we would have found an excuse not to do any exercise, but  we feel a commitment to turn up to the session. It's a good feeling when you've finished that session and head home feeling better for it.

I hooked up with Carlos when I realized I was not going to make it to my 40th birthday in good health. I was carrying around 109kg on a 152cm frame and on a number of different medications for cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Carlos helped me set some goals and then WE set to work to achieve them. I have been able to achieve all of my goals and in the process I have been able to bring my current weight to76kg and I'm now off 2 of my medications. 
I go to Carlos because he challenges and pushes me to achieve, he won't let me give up on myself, because he believes in me and makes me believe in myself.

Carlos’ Outdoor Fitness Group is GREAT! No excuse is good enough to avoid attending. It is worth ALL the efforts.... early mornings are rewarded by magic sunrises, getting “it” over with before my day begins... I feel more alert, happier and stronger the day of our training... the group and team energy spurs me to work harder than I would ever exercise on my own... and also gives us opportunity to have someone to laugh with as well as inspire me on.... training in the outdoors feels so much better than a gym... all that fresh air and using the environment to train makes it more realistic and do-able... for a body that began as very weak, and VERY overweight... every week I feel the fast and rewarding results I am achieving.... feeling more confident, stronger and healthier, as well as toning up and losing weight... it is very affordable and fits into my tight budget and busy schedule perfectly! My first experience with a personal trainer has been with Carlos Dobson during the 12 week program. Having been overweight and unfit all my life, I was concerned that my chances to change lifelong habits when I’m approaching 50 where minimal. The thought of menopause, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and diabetes were worrying. A friend talked me into joining the program with her and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The past weeks have been a life changing and challenging journey – but also a lot of fun on the way.

Carlos has been just the right mix of motivation, hard work, support, respect and encouragement. Carlos said at the beginning of the program that it was his goal to have us running – I told him that I couldn’t run out of sight on a dark night and wasn’t really interested in being able to run. But to my surprise when out walking one day 7 weeks into the program, like Forrest Gump, I just felt like running – and I did! Since then, I have been jogging 3 times a week and can now do 5 kms. It is an exhilarating feeling to challenge yourself and achieve something you never thought you could do.

I have also lost 9 kgs, 40+ cm and changed my body shape and most importantly, my attitude. I have so much more energy and motivation in every aspect of my life – everything is so much easier. I could not have achieved any of this without Carlos’ expertise as a personal trainer and motivator.

I find his training is of high quality. I really enjoy the sessions as they are always varied and stimulating.
